Johns Hopkins preview

The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays will take the field for the first offical time this Satruday at Towson University. The Blue Jays are coming off of a dissapointing

finishing 7-8 with a first round exit of the NCAA Tournament. Injuries to Chris Boland certainly hampered a JHU team that seemed to be stacked with talent.

This season they will need Boland to be healthy to help open up the game for fellow Senior Attackman Kyle Wharton. The Blue Jays will be looking for the

offensive spark to come from Matt Dolente winning more face-offs this season. Coach Dave Pietramala has some good young talent surrounding Boland

and Wharton. Last season, Peitramala leaned heavliy on a talented freshman class. The strong now sophomore class of John Greeley, Chris Lightner, and

John Ranagan will be key parts of this year's team. The Blue Jays face a tough schedule from top to bottom with the hardest part of the schedule coming at

the end of the season. Pietramala and company will also be playing in two Inside Lacrosse events. They will play UMBC in the Face-Off Classic held at M&T

Bank Stadium in Baltimore on March 12th. The second event will be the Big City Classic at the Meadowlands on April 3rd when they take on North

Carolina. The Blue Jays have two stretches of three and four games that could define their season. Playing Syracuse, Virginia, and North Carolina in the end

of March into the beginning of April could set the tone for the last three games of the season. Pietramala's team will then face Maryland, Navy, Loyola, and

Army to finish out the regular season. The Blue Jays will have the advantage by playing Navy and Loyola at home.

The MSI team will be at Unitas Stadium for the 12pm face-off on Saturday, February 19th. We will be blogging all the action on game day as well as updates

on Twitter (@mdsportsinsider) and Facebook (Maryland Sports Insider).
