CHESAPEAKE BAYHAWKS SELECT THREE COLLEGIATE SENIORS TO COMPLETE 2011 MLL COLLEGIATE DRAFT

From Lindsey Burns.

Annapolis, MD.-- The Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) selected three additional players on Monday from the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft List of eligible

seniors according to General Manager Spencer Ford. Andrew Feinberg, attackman from Brown, Tom Palesky, goalie from Army, and Max Schmidt, defenseman

from University of Maryland will be added to the Bayhawks Collegiate Inactive Roster immediately following their senior seasons.

The 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft was held on Friday, January 22nd at the Power Plant in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The draft consisted of eight rounds however the Bayhawks did

not have their first selection until Round 4. According to MLL rules, the Bayhawks had the option to select three additional players following the draft to bring their total selection

up to eight. Chesapeake had five selections during Friday’s draft, including 24th overall pick Barney Ehrmann, defenseman from Georgetown.

Andrew Feinberg, a native of Owings Mills, MD, boasts a career total of 125 points with 97 goals and 28 assists through his first three seasons at Brown. In 2009, Feinberg

was named to the SecondTeam All-Ivy League as he led the league with 41 total goals. He also ranked seventh nationally in goals per game with 2.67 that season. In his

sophomore year, Feinberg was named New England Rookie of the Year, and he was the second leading scorer for gold medal-winning Team USA with 20 goals at the

ILF U-19 Men's Lacrosse World Championships in British Columbia, Canada.

Army goalie Tom Palesky earned Honorable Mention All-American honors and was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team last spring. He was selected as the Patriot

League Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Black Knights to their first-ever tournament title. During his sophomore season in 2009, Palesky, who reigns from

Plano, TX, led the Patriot League and finished 10th in the nation with a .591 save percentage. He also led the conference with 12.75 saves per game that spring.

Max Schmidt was named a Preseason Honorable Mention All-American in 2009 and 2011 and a Preseason Third Team All-American in 2010. He also earned ALL-ACC honors

in 2009. As a freshman from Upper Arlington, OH, Schmidt was a member of the gold medal United States U-19 team at the 2008 World Championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

The MLL hosted the Collegiate Draft this year for the first time in January, a departure from the traditional June draft following the men’s lacrosse National Championship Memorial

Day Weekend. College seniors are eligible to begin playing in the MLL immediately following the conclusion of their NCAA season as opposed to waiting until after Memorial Day.

Collegiate draft picks will remain on the teams’ Collegiate Inactive Roster until they are added to the teams’ 23-Man Active Roster. They are fully eligible to take part in team

practices and activities although they must be added to the 23-Man Roster to play in an MLL game.
